Do you have any tips or things that you’ve learned from knitting?
I’ve learned to relax, sometimes when I’m upset I’ll knit (or crochet) so I can think about my feelings, it’s a little like meditation.
Also, note that if you knit/crochet when you’re angry you’ll have a different tension!
Do you do any other crafts besides knitting? What are they, and did learning to knit come before or after learning these other crafts?
Well as I have renamed this knitting and crochet challenge you already know I also crochet.
I’m also enjoying paper crafts but it’s a new thing I’m trying, I make my own arrows for the bow.
I’m always open to new crafts 🙂
How do you acquire most of yarn? Online retailers, local yarn shops, swaps, or large chain craft stores? What’s your favorite?
I usually shop at local stores where I love to feel the yarn before buying it.
I also shop on Etsy and on other online stores.
There are no large chain craft stores where I live so that option is out.
Out of those I prefer the local yarn stores 🙂
Have you ever been a part, or wanted to be a part of a knit-a-long? What was it? If not, why?
I haven’t, the knit/crochet-a-long are either very long , over months, or I discover about them too late to buy the right yarn or I don’t like the pattern.
I’m sure one day I’ll find the right knit/crochet-a-long for me 🙂
Do you have a knitting book or a place where you keep patterns, ideas, size measurements? Post a picture of it!
Nope, I just print the pattern, use it and loose it, so if I want to redo it I reprint and redo all the math. Not super smart right?
Also, I retake my measurements every time, body changes 🙂
Have you ever made your own pattern or dyed your own yarn? How did it turn out?
I did make a jellyfish amigurumi pattern, I also posted it on this blog. I think I should rewrite it, after reading other patterns I know I can make it clearer.
But I don’t want to write patterns it’s not my passion, I knit and crochet to relax 🙂
If you had the supplies (and patience) for it, what project would you start today?
Oooooh the blanket with the huge wool and a scarf with the same yarn
Have you ever stricken someone off your to-knit-for list because they didn’t appreciate/take care of your last knitted gift to them?
See day 22 I have given 4/5 knitted/crocheted gifts to avoid this problem
I think my sister does not appreciate her scarf enough but it’s probably because she changed style and she’s young so that’s ok, I forgive her.
Do you knit gifts for friends and family for the holidays or birthdays?
I did, I made a scarf for my mum, sister and grandmother and a couple of small thing for my SO but that’s it.
I work and study full time, the things I find time to work on are for me.
I will probably make more things for my family but they know that I’ll do them when I want if I want and that I love them anyway 🙂
I’ve read of many people that ended up really upset because they made a homemade gift and it was not appreciated enough so I’m ok with keeping the good stuff for myself.
